Zone Rate

A pay system in which employees are compensated in accordance with the geographical zone in which they are employed is referred to as a "zone rate." In industries like transportation, where workers may work in different zones with varying levels of demand or cost of living, this kind of system is frequently used. Employees are compensated fairly for their work in each location thanks to the zone rate system.

A truck driver, for instance, may receive a higher wage if they drive through a zone with more traffic or challenging terrain. In a similar vein, an airline employee who works in an area where living costs are higher may be compensated for receiving a higher rate of pay. Other pay systems, like hourly wages or salaries, are often used in conjunction with zone rate systems.
